Ad Space Platform to Build 2 Cambodian Schools

January 18, 2010 – 11:37 am

Rural School Project in Cambodia was brought to a whole new height with the acquisition of the domain name Kumomo.com!

On 19th November 2006, the domain Kumomo.com was registered. The Kumomo Project has been developed by the team at 1.com.my to match ad space owners and buyers. At the same time, a portion of the money is donated to a charitable cause. The first charity organization the Kumomo Team engaged was American Assistance for Cambodia (AAC).

In the recent months, an anonymous corporation has expressed keen interest in the domain name Kumomo.com. After a few rounds of discussions, they have decided to take full ownership of the domain name Kumomo.com and would make the necessary compensation to the project.

Most importantly, with the acquisition of the domain name, they have also generously agreed to donate USD26,000 to build 2 schools in Cambodia. This is in addition to the sum that has been collected from all members’ contribution to the Kumomo Tree Project all these while.

“Thank you very much for your very generous arrangement and gesture to turn this sum over to us to build two schools. We are very grateful and so will be hundreds of Cambodia children who will benefit by gaining an education they would otherwise would not be able to pursue,” said Bernard Krisher, Chairman of AAC.

Ad space worth USD300 sold!

November 7, 2007 – 5:08 pm

We as Kumonians here are happy to announce that one of the Ad Space that’s worth USD300.00 has been successfully booked and sold! Adrian from Neowave Sdn Bhd has successfully booked and purchase 1.com.my’s advertising space on their website and by his actions, we are certainly one step closer to realizing our dream of constructing a Cambodian School for the kids in Cambodia!

Of course, this wouldn’t be successful without the interactions between the owners of these Ad Spaces as well as the Advertisers and so, I would like to represent the Kumonian team to give our deepest heartfelt gratitude and thanks to so many of you that have browsed through kumomo.com and have made use of this small little ad space platform whether you are just someone that accidentally stepped onto the site or someone that owns an ad space or someone that buys an ad space through this community.

I believe we have have come a long way into making this online trading platform the way it is today and I hope that we will continue to strive towards our goals and together, we can achieve greater heights. Therefore, I would like to say kudos to everyone that have helped in any ways and hopefully we can continue to work on this and make this a very successful online ad marketplace! Once again, my heartiest thanks and congratulations to everyone! A job well done I must say!

Handvertising: Advertisers looking at your skin in a new way

October 23, 2007 – 4:50 pm

So you have seen advertisements from commercials to billboards. Now advertisers are looking at your skin to place their ads! Look at how this Orange County based company is getting venues to let advertisers on their customer’s hands.

This is a new form of advertising and is completely different from the television commercials and magazine ads people are used to. What do you call advertising on your hands? “Well I like to call it Handvertising”, said Mike Brown CEO of Handvertising USA.

handvertisingusa1.jpg
Handvertising USA is transforming the way advertisers are looking at your skin, more specifically your hands. “Almost everyone has been to a county fair, swap meet, bar or club and had had their hand stamped for proof of entry. We have found a better use for this space that could make everyone happy” said Mike. “Advertisers are always looking for a new and exciting way to promote their brand. Handvertising USA offers a unique way to do this and everyone benefits” said Mike.

“We find venues also use the stamps to increase business. For example venues are offering special prices on drinks if the customer has a particular Handvertising stamp. People are requesting particular stamps because they want to fit in and they want the drink special.” Mike says.

If you would like to see some samples of what Handvertising USA is doing visit their website at http://www.HandvertisingUSA.com for pictures, FAQ s and more.

Online advertising ‘growing fast’

September 26, 2007 – 11:27 am

The annual value of pan-European online advertising is set to reach 16bn euros ($22bn; £10.8bn) by 2012, more than double that of 2006, says a study.

The report by research body Forrester said online adverts would leap to 18% of market share, up from 9% currently.

It said 52% of people were now regularly online, spending more time doing so than watching television.

The UK will continue to see the most online advertising in the next four years, ahead of Germany and France.

‘Valuable medium’

European internet users now spend 14.3 hours a week online, compared with 11.3 hours watching TV, and 4.4 hours reading newspapers or magazines, the research group said.

As a result of this increased internet usage, 36% of people who go online said they spent less time looking at the television as a result.

The report said search engines would continue to dominate online advertising spend, followed by display advertisements and e-mails.

“After five years of dipping their toes into the online marketing waters, firms have come to realise that the net is a valuable medium for client acquisition, retention and market expansion,” said the study.

A nice little comment from one of our patrons ^^

September 17, 2007 – 10:22 am

Recently, one of our patrons wrote this:

“I often browse kumomo to find place to put my ads for Kaklong Online Portal and CoolSavings4U since some of the adspace are cheap and I hope I could help other people while helping myself. This is my second time booking through Kumomo. If I get a good response, I might as well advertise on many other sites listed on Kumomo!” – Khairun Nisa Aziz.

Let’s hope more people will find kumomo.com a quick and easy place to buy/sell ad spaces in the future ^_^

Cheers!

Raising awareness of Kumomo Tree Project

September 17, 2007 – 9:04 am

Hello all! Today, I have something interesting to share with you guys! If you guys have some free time, please visit this link http://www.1.com.my/wordpress-theme/banteay-srey/. This link will direct you to a preview of 1.com.my’s own wordpress theme! This theme has been developed for a very long time for the purpose of promoting the awareness of the Kumomo Tree project. What is the Kumomo Tree Project you might ask? It is simply a charitable project to help Cambodian children by trying to build a school for children who are poor and unable to attend schools in Cambodia. The awareness of this project is ever present in kumomo.com because for every single ad space you purchase through kumomo.com, some percentage of the payment is donated to the Kumomo Tree Project which then helps to reach our targeted amount of money to build the school. Therefore, if you wish to find out more, please follow the link above and help raise the awareness of the Kumomo Tree Project! Thanks ;)

Can Design

September 16, 2007 – 10:52 pm

This summer, pepsi have came out with a new pepsi tv advertisement, “how you football (staring-Messi, Lampard, Beckham, Ronaldinho, Henry & Fabregas). Beside that Pepsi also has a new website to go with their new Ad campaign. You will find all Messi, Lampard, Beckham, Ronaldinho, Henry & Fabregas desktops, an interview with them, skills tutorial & their own personal pepsi can design in the website. “thinking outside the box?”

September 14, 2007 – 9:43 am

I found something interesting over at BBC News. This technological news was dated 10th January 2005. So I’ve been thinking , if it is possible for our heads to be an ad space, we might actually be able to sell or buy it here at kumomo.com. But then, it might not be possible too considering the different mindsets of Asian people. What would your neighbour think if you have something like a Nike logo on your forehead while you’re walking around town? Anyways, below is the article. Something for you guys to digest ^_^.

Man auctions ad space on forehead

Model of man with logo on his head

This model shows how the forehead advert could work

A 20-year-old US man is selling advertising space on his forehead to the highest bidder on website eBay. Andrew Fischer, from Omaha, Nebraska, said he would have a non-permanent logo or brand name tattooed on his head for 30 days.

“The way I see it I’m selling something I already own; after 30 days I get it back,” he told the BBC Today programme.

Mr Fischer has received 39 bids so far, with the largest bid currently at more than $322 (£171).

“The winner will be able to send me a tattoo or have me go to a tattoo parlour and get a temporary ink tattoo on my forehead and this will be something they choose, a company name or domain name, perhaps their logo,” he told the Radio 4 programme.

I wouldn’t go around with 666, the mark of the beast

Andrew Fisher

On the online auction, Mr Fischer describes himself as an “average American Joe, give or take”.

His sales pitch adds: “Take advantage of this radical advertising campaign and become a part of history.”

Mr Fischer said that while he would accept any brand name or logo, “I wouldn’t go around with a swastika or anything racial”.

He added: “I wouldn’t go around with 666, the mark of the beast.

“Other than that I wouldn’t promote anything socially unacceptable such as adult websites or stores.”

He said he would use the money to pay college fees – he is planning to study graphic design.

The entrepreneur said his mother was initially surprised by his decision but following all the media attention she felt he was “thinking outside the box”.

A happy Kumomo user

Grabbed from I Am Scrubbing The Blog Sidebar

Scrubbing The Sidebar For Better PageRank
In an attempt to gain higher PR value for the upcoming Google PageRank update, I have decided to relocate most of the links I have placed on my sidebar to the page I have created especially for linking purpose. By doing that, not only I will be able to make the sidebar look neat, it also help me save this blog from looking too cluttered. So, what’s left on the sidebar now are blogs that are somehow related with what I am doing right now, which is to make money online. I am planning to use an external blogroll management tool. Anyone have any idea what I can use?

Why Am I Doing This?
I relocate the links so that I can make sure that my future and current blog visitors to have better focus when they read my blog, and that would mean better reading experience.
And as you can see, I even removed the archives that I did based on monthly basis. I am not sure if that’s a wise decision but I will just let it be that way first. I don’t think that anyone would even care how old this blog is anyway, do you?
But, of course I didn’t remove the archives according to their categories. At least they would be able to make this blog look more organized.

Goodbye ReviewMe, Say Hello To PPP Direct
As you can see, I have removed the ReviewMe Button and replaced it with PPP Direct. The reason is simple, I just want my potential advertiser to pay what their money’s worth. I intend to make at least $40 per post, so by using PPP Direct, I can help anyone who’s interested to get me write about them to save 50% of the money for other marketing campaign purpose.

CBAds Genie On Main Page, AdSense on Single Post Page
I believe that I can control the type of ads that will show up on my blog for their first time visit if they land on my main page, it’s really impossible for me to make sure that I would be able to target the exact type of ads that my blog visitors would want to see on the single post. That’s why I decided to keep AdSense to show up on my single blog entry.
The logic behind this is, I know that almost 90% of the blog visitor that type in my domain url will expect to see post that is related about making money online. So, that should not be a problem. But, most of the traffic that comes from search engine are from random searches, so, I can’t really decide what kind of ads that supposed to show up.

Advertlets And Nuffnang Removed
I must be out of my mind but I don’t see any reason why I would want to keep a banner for pennies. That’s why I choose to go with Kumomo. Kumomo is a free marketplace anyway, and if there’s anyone from Nuffnang or Advertlets that is interested to get a banner advertising on my blog, they would be able to notice my in the marketplace anyway.

What I am trying to accomplish here is to prove that “less is more minimalism principle is a very real. If this principle holds true with AdSense, I didn’t see any reason why there would be any difference with TLA or Affiliate links that you choose to display on your sidebar.

Everyone Has An Ad Space To Sell, Without Realizing

May 9, 2007 – 2:22 pm

San Jose, CA (1888PressRelease) May 08, 2007 – What can I do with this space? The next time someone asks this question, there will be a straight answer – post it online and let the world know about it. From the rooftop of a barn all the way to public toilet seats, there’s almost no ad space that is too bizarre for an advertiser to promote their services. Kumomo.com is taking the ad space industry to a next level of exposure and creativity.

Kumomo.com is a global advertisement space search engine that allows advertiser to find the right space to advertise, and this could be almost any medium under the sky. The ad spaces listed here are borderless, and almost everyone could have a space and be part of this. Best of all, listing an ad space for to be known across the globe, is totally free.

Ad spaces have advanced to be more than conventional billboards and lightboxs. The launch of Kumomo.com opens up limitless advertising possibilities to anyone with spaces to offer. Besides the conventional ad spaces on blogs, websites and various online sites, advertising spaces is taking on a fresh trend where advertisers can now book physical ad spaces. This is the role of Kumomo.com, being an ad space booking marketplace, where ad space owner publish many of their extraordinary, unconventional and untought of spaces.

There are cases where people sell the space on their forehead, breast, and butt. The hype that it creates ought to expand and popularize. And when this happens, more creative ad spaces will have a centralized ad space search engine where advertisers come and book it. Both the advertiser and space owner will then start to communicate with each other and get the advertisement up the space.

Post up new and extraordinary spaces and attract attention and headlines. It will mark an end towards wasted, useless and unresourceful spaces.

Kumomo sells your ad space to build schools in Cambodia

March 23, 2007 – 2:26 pm

Selling an ad space now, contributes to the education of rural Cambodian kids. Kumomo is a free online ad space booking platform, where the booking fee is directed to building of a school, through the Kumomo Tree Charity Project.

(I-Newswire) – In rural Cambodia, hundreds of villages are still deprived of functional primary and secondary schools. American Assistance for Cambodia ( AAfC ) founded the Rural Schools Project in 1999, has led the effort to construct over 300 primary and lower secondary schools. One of the schools will be built from the advertisers’ booking fee through the Kumomo Tree Charity Project.

“I am honored you have chosen us as one of the charities to support and give you our blessing to list us, as well as your creative skill and community spirit, said Mr. Bernard Krisher, Chairman of AAfC.

For every successful ad space booked, Kumomo collects a booking fee from the advertiser and contribute to the Cambodian Rural School Project fund, while any remaining goes directly to the space owner.

It took the team of 12 a full 6 months to realize the Kumomo concept and it’s finally launched to the public 2 weeks ago. Once the fund hits USD13,000, the check will be issued to AAfC. The team hopes to deliver the first check within the next 3 months.

Off to a Great Start!

March 22, 2007 – 11:40 pm

After launching barely for 2 weeks, we are getting lots of great feedbacks and support especially from the blogging community.

Rex of Technically Speaking…

This site is very new folks. You won’t find it on the meter, and it’s only been online for two weeks. They have however worked on it for six months now. It is a great concept in internet advertising. With just a few web sites, and a few advertisers, this Kumomo Tree will grow.

Everybody go to…

Technically Speaking recently wrote about this site and it peaked my interest too. After all there is always space to insert another Ad code your site…well ok, maybe not. Kumomo … and the $1 goes to Kumomo for securing the space through them. They have two variations one known…

A Malaysia-based personal finance site also took part in Kumomo Tree’s project…

To summarize what Kumomo.com is all about, it’s basically a site that allows space owners like me to sell off the pixels I have and donate a part of that money to charity. Yup, that’s right, you don’t get taxed by anyone but instead, you get to channel part of the revenue for a good cause.

We are now in midst of corresponding with many bloggers and online space owners who are curious about how Kumomo works and I can assure you we are as excited as these bloggers as we answer their questions.

You “Got Space”?
